Spring Fashion Do's and Don'ts

Bring on the sixty degrees and Spring breeze!
Daylight savings just started which means we are living for longer days with more sunshine! This is probably my favorite time of the year because nothing feels better than the sun rays hitting my skin and wearing thinner layers. Spring fashion is among us and there are some trends we are keeping in the winter time. Keep on reading for seven of my Spring Do's and Don'ts!

DO: Keep it simple
DON'T: Over Accessorize
With any outfit, I always ask myself "how can I accessorize without doing too much?". Overcrowding your outfits can be overwhelming and lose the potential of a great outfit. Minimal style and accessories are the perfect addition to any outfit and an ongoing trend. My favorite accessory at the moment are my round flat shades with from ShadyVeu. I have a round face so I am very limited to the options in sunglasses, but the design of this pair is so flattering! They are tortoise shell with gold accents to make any outfit pop! We love a good pair of sunnies, especially for these Spring days coming up! Throw on some minimal stud earrings or small hoops and a dainty necklace from your collection. My favorite brand of all time is Mejuri and they have such stunning pieces of jewelry!

DO: Dress in pastel and soft colors
DON'T: Wear dark, harsh colors (except black)

For a girls brunch, day-time look or when you want to look casual-chic to run errands, pastel and neutral and pastel colors are your best friends this season! Winter time is know for the dark browns, dark greens and burgandy's. Bring a bit of light into your wardrobe with sticking to light beige, sage, whites, grays, soft pinks and lilacs for the perfect day look! Keep in mind you can still pull off the color black if styled right, like this beige top above with some black leather legging and a cute jacket or cardigan for an on-the-go errands look.

DO: Wear faux leather
DON'T: Wear faux fur

Put the faux scarves and jackets away loves, because Spring and Summer are slowly approaching and it's time to put the faux babies away. Trade the faux fur for some faux leather! Faux leather skirts, tops, shorts and long trench jackets are perfect for those rainy day looks and help bring any outfit look chic for day and night looks. I am also a big fan of vinyl material for more of a bold and edgy outfit.

DO: Light layering
DON'T: Show too much skin

It may be starting to warm up, but it's not so hot to start showing some skin just yet. Keep it chic and simple with layering! Midi dresses and skirts are the perfect length and can help keep your legs covered while still looking sexy. A pair on jeans, sneakers, a soft hoodie and a light jacket or blazer to stay warm is one of my go-to casual outfits to stay a bit warm!

DO: Wear detailed fabrics, textures light knits
DON'T: Wear heavy chunky knits

With these days warming up, we have to put those layers away! Lace, satin and mesh fabrics are so pretty this time of year. The details in fabric can make a big difference in any outfit and help creating dimension. These fabrics are thriving and definitely giving chunky knit sweaters a run for their money this season.

DO: Think loose and casual
DON'T: Wear tight-fitted pieces

The body-con dress is one of the most flattering pieces a woman can wear, however, these are better for night time when you go out on the town with the girls or a hot date. Keep it casual and chic with an over-sized button up shirt cinched with a cute belt and a pair of dress pants or jeans. I have been loving the look of a bustier with loose button up dress! Feeling comfortable in what you are wearing is always a must so think loose and comfortable to look cute and put together. It's not crop top season either yet but if you're like me and like to show a little midriff, there are ways to get away with it. Its best to wear things that fit and are styled differently than a top that makes you look boxy. I like to grab an oversized t-shirt and tie a knot on the front. With a skirt, jeans and skirt, this can be styled any way. Even a simple tucking in the shirt can make any casual outfit more put together.

DON'T: Wear dark prints

Those vintage floral prints are always so eye-catching and now is the season to wear them! Those dark florals and prints are best for the holidays so put those bad boys away and go for softer prints.

What will you be wearing this spring? xx
