Fall Bucket List

Shorter days, colder mornings, bonfires and lattes. That can only mean one thing -
FALL IS FINALLY HERE.

I do not know why but I have such a good feeling about this Fall season. I am very simplistic and find joy in the little things - the leaves changing colors, the colder brisk mornings and Autumn sunsets, watching the birds migrate to the South, everyone popping out their comfy sweaters and long sleeves and my favorite of all, sitting out on my balcony in the morning with my blanket, tea and my best companions Tawindo and Doug.

Fall is the time for doing activities and enjoying the last moments outdoors before hibernation starts (I hate winter lol). I have created a list for this Fall season including specific locations around the area I reside in to give you some ideas on what you can do with your significant others, a group of friends, family, or even taking yourself on a date for some alone time!

Pumpkin & Apple Picking

From strawberry season to pumpkin picking and everything in between, Butlers Orchard is a gem with always having something going on all year long. Opened Tuesday-Sunday, Butlers Orchard is hidden in the backroads of Germantown to an oasis of pumpkins, flowers, fruit and activities! They have a special pumpkin festival and bonfire going on the 28th of September including hayrides.

I have always wanted to go apple picking and it is definitely in the books for this Fall. Homestead Farm currently has all types of apples that are ripe and ready for picking! They include a complimentary bag for those arriving for apple picking. Homestead farm also has a market with pre-Picked vegetables, apples, pumpkins, fall squash, jams, preserves, local honey, and apple cider (YUM!!! CIDER!!!).

Incredibly family-oriented, Summers Farm is located in the outskirts of Frederick, MD near the Golden Mile. With over 42 activities for the family, Summers Farm is all about Fall fun. They start their season this weekend, September 21st with pumpkin patches, campfires, corn mazes, golf, bull riding, fireworks, pig races, and barnyard animals! Check out their website for selected event days and what else they offer!

Coffee Shops & Restaurants

Pumpkin spice and everything nice! I love trying out new coffee shops and restaurants all year long, but the fall season is where this has my heart.
Located just off of I-270, this is my little sweet spot where I come to do my work (currently sitting here as I type this blog post). I have never felt more comfortable in a coffee shop! With yummy options on the menu, the pumpkin spice latte is on it this season and I have never had an authentic and yummy pumpkin spice latte anywhere else. I also enjoyed their turkey, arugula, tomato, egg and cheese croissant - SO YUM!

With only two locations in the whole U.S, we are BLESSED to have Summer House Santa Monica in Northern Bethesda. I like to consider this Restaurant as Summer in the Fall. I have had the pleasure of eating here for brunch and specialty drinks with Antonny. The aesthetic of this place is beautiful and relaxed. Not to mention the food! Their brunch waffles and breakfast tostadas are super yum and refreshing to eat. I anticipate to hopefully try their lunch and dinner menu this Fall! Also, I highly recommend their passion fruit margarita from the weekend brunch menu!

Union Market DC - 1309 5th St NE, Washington, DC 20002
Located in Northeast DC, Union Market is exactly what it sounds - a union of markets! Business owners have located their good eats and small markets inside a building with an industrial taste. From kombucha to ethnic foods, smoothies and doughnuts, shopping markets and WINE (ooo yaaasss), Union Market is a staple to Washington, D.C and its culture. I am in loveeee with it!

Halloween

Halloween Bar Crawls
Althoughgood time and go to these types of events planned around the D.C area. The D.C Halloween Crawl this year takes place in DuPont featuring 15+ bars around the area. What will you be dressing up for this?!

Field of Screams
Okay...So I'm not one to like scary things or to be scared but this place was so much fun last year!! This is a great location for the family and so much fun with a group of friends. Located in Olney, MD, it is open every Friday and Saturday from September 27th to November 2nd. With three different types of trails, they are all rated with levels of how scary they are! They can get really scary, so be ready! During the nights, they offer food, drinks and sweets. They also light up those bonfires and have the ingredients to make s'mores available for purchase! What is more Fall than that!

Halloween at the Zoo
Night of the Living Zoo the National Zoo with after-hours access to attractionsdecked out in Halloween decor. With live entertainment and oddities, this event is great to go in a group! Food Trucks and craft brews are available for purchase. Whatare your plans for this season? Staywarm this season, loves!
